easyJet flight delayed or cancelled?

easyJet has a dedicated online claim form and generates a trackable claim reference — but watch for a known pattern of offering vouchers instead of the cash you're owed.

Verified · checked Jun 2026 easyJet's compensation claim form is at easyjet.com/en/claim/EU261. After submitting, you'll get a claim reference and a message stating their specialist assessment and legal team will review within 28 days. There's a separate form for "right to care" expenses (meals, hotel) at easyjet.com/en/claim/welfare — these are reviewed separately from the compensation claim itself.

Two things worth knowing before you file

Watch for A documented pattern (seen repeatedly in passenger forum threads) of easyJet responding to a valid EU261/UK261 cash compensation claim with a travel voucher instead — sometimes for less than the amount actually owed. You're entitled to insist on cash compensation specifically; a voucher is not the same as fulfilling an EU261/UK261 claim unless you choose to accept it.
Watch for If someone other than the traveling passenger books the ticket, easyJet has in some documented cases rejected compensation claims made by the booker on grounds they're a "third party" — even when the booker is a family member acting on the passenger's behalf. If this applies to you, have the actual passenger submit the claim, or include clear written authorization.

Compensation amounts

Standard EU261/UK261 tiers apply: €250/£220 under 1,500km, €400/£350 for 1,500-3,500km, up to €600/£520 for longer flights — reduced by 50% if easyJet reroutes you with only a modest delay to your final arrival.
